Sarajevo Time Travel: War and History Bike Tour
If you’re an avid cyclist seeking a unique way to explore Sarajevo, this tour is tailor-made for you. Embark on a journey that delves into the city’s captivating past, starting at Bascarsija, where you’ll meet your knowledgeable guide and collect your bicycles and helmets. Prepare to be enchanted as you pedal through the enchanting streets of the Old Town, discovering iconic historical buildings and uncovering their stories.
As we set off towards the other side of town, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the diverse neighborhoods of Sarajevo. From the Ottoman-era architecture of the Old Town to the majestic Austria-Hungarian-style buildings and the remnants of the socialist Yugoslavia period, the distinct transitions in architectural styles will be easily discernible during our ride.
Our next destination is the picturesque Vrelo Bosne, the Spring of the Bosna River. Nestled at the foot of Mount Igman, this breathtaking park boasts numerous river springs and cascading waterfalls, providing a serene sanctuary to escape the bustling city life. Take a well-deserved rest and immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings before we continue our expedition.
We will then proceed to the Tunnel of Hope, a poignant site that played a crucial role during the Sarajevo Siege. You’ll have the opportunity to observe the sections of the remaining tunnel, a symbol of hope and resilience, and explore the museum dedicated to preserving the memory and significance of the tunnel. Finally, we will cycle back to our starting point, where our memorable tour will conclude.
